Sedella DeJohnette Turner was born May 25, 1935, in Cook County Chicago, IL to the late Robert DeJohnette and Bessie Pitts DeJohnette. She was married to Walter Turner Sr., her late husband in Dermott, AR December 5, 1953. She departed the world of the living to engage a vibrant journey as she reunited with her husband Walter after 20 years on May 11, 2017.

She retired October 2001 from Jefferson County Public Schools as a Radio Dispatch Operator for 30 years. She earned her Associate degree at Jefferson Community Technical College as a Commercial...

Sedella DeJohnette Turner was born May 25, 1935, in Cook County Chicago, IL to the late Robert DeJohnette and Bessie Pitts DeJohnette. She was married to Walter Turner Sr., her late husband in Dermott, AR December 5, 1953. She departed the world of the living to engage a vibrant journey as she reunited with her husband Walter after 20 years on May 11, 2017.

She retired October 2001 from Jefferson County Public Schools as a Radio Dispatch Operator for 30 years. She earned her Associate degree at Jefferson Community Technical College as a Commercial Artist and she also attended University Of Louisville and spoke Spanish as a secondary language.
Sedella was a member of Walter Clements AME Zion Church where she served on the Steward Board, Usher Board and sung in the church Choir.
She loved to sew and paint. She dabbled in photography, played the organ, baked and decorated cakes, and she was an avid reader of many books and magazines. She was also a fantastic cook, a fabulous mother and housewife.

Mrs. Turner leaves behind 3 daughters, Sylvia D (Israel), Sherri D and Shereen D Ball (Shawn) 4 sons; Walter (Diana), Walter Lee Cole, David Carl Turner (preceded in death) daughter in- law Tina Turner, Ernesto and Blevans Tyrone Turner; (2 sisters) Michelle Little and Romelle Dyson; (2 brothers) Darno Von (Val) and Ronnie (Kim); grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
